Franklin "Frankie" Nathaniel Jonas is a former child actor. He is best known as the younger brother of the Jonas Brothers, having been given the nickname "The Bonus Jonas" as a child by his brothers.
Early Life[]
Frankie was born on September 28, 2000 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, as the youngest son of Paul and Denise Jonas. He spent most of his teenage years in Westlake Texas, where he attended Carroll Senior High School.
Education[]
Jonas graduated from the Blackbird Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2019. He received a certificate in audio engineering from the school, and later moved to Los Angeles to start a carer in studio engineering. In November 2020, he began attending Columbia University in New York City, where he is currently taking classes in astrophysics and writing.
Career[]
Acting/Voice work[]
As a child, Jonas appeared in several of his brothers music videos, as well as various Jonas-related films, documentaries, and television shows/specials. He also had small roles in other films, as well as providing voice work for the 2009 film, Ponyo, in which he starred along side Noah Cyrus, the younger sister of Miley Cyrus, and as Pip in Spooky Buddies. Frankie also stars as a co-host of the ABC reality game show Claim to Fame alongside his brother, Kevin.
Music[]
Jonas posted his debut track, "Shanghai Noon" on SoundCloud in June 2017, which was followed by "Appa" less than a year later. In January 2019, he was a producer on the song "Too Young" for singer Alli Haber
Agency signing[]
On March 31, 2021, Jonas announced that he has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA), the same talent agency that represents his brothers.
Personal life[]
Jonas discussed his struggles with suicidal thoughts, alcoholism and sobriety in a March 2021 interview. He later received some backlash alongside Charlie D'Amelio, Suni Lee, and Lil Huddy, in September 2021 for a prank involving a Scientology necklace. The post was later removed from TikTok.
Jonas has also stated his dislike for being referred to as the "Bonus Jonas", finding the nickname hurtful. After this, his brothers promised to stop calling him by the nickname.
